Subhash Thakur is the creator of wonderful flutes of which much time and dedication have gone into to produce what is now a number one professional bansuri flute in India and world wide .His passion and love of the bansuri have helped develop a deep understanding of this instrument with depth of detail and tender care towards its creation has with out a doubt placed him amongst his peers. His flutes have attracted such flutists in india as PT.Ranu Maumee, PT.Amarnath, PT.Kailash Sharma to just name a few of these wonderful flutists of traditional indian music.
The bansuri is made from ban can and is a 7 holed flute which holes are burned into it according to it length and thickness .Its length and thickness and quality will denote which key is chosen ,so careful selection of each piece is very important for the design of each and every flute that is created .The flute is then hand rubbed and polished to produce a high quality finish which then for protection and for appearance ,a nylon binding will be added to the bansuri for the environmental changes of temperature which do affect instruments of natural mediums.
In travelling India I have come across many different bansuri makers and flutists and have seen that a lot have chosen these flutes as I have been deeply impressed by their quality of tonal sound ,pleasure and ease of performance .In the last 4 years I have been playing these in concerts here in Australia and overseas in India and have found them to be of exceedingly high quality and durability from the high mountains of the Himalayas to the sea levels here in Australia.
Some flutists here in Australia that use these flutes are Jethro Williams of Sacred Earth and Chris Lane of Oka to mention a few. These flutes are of a high professional concert level of sound ,quality, appearance, tonal excellence, and durability. The beginner will also enjoy the beauty of these flutes as the tonal sound will produce such an atmosphere he or she will most certainly appreciate.
